Styling Safely at Salon Hazelton
CHALLENGE:
From the opening in 1984, Salon Hazelton has been a premier hair salon in Perrysburg, OH with owners Greg and Karen Hazelton maintaining a focus on products not only beneficial to your hair, but also for the environment. The salon is committed to offering products which provide pure ingredients, responsible packaging, and use renewable energy to be produced. Following a two month state-mandated shutdown due to COVID-19, it was imperative to welcome customers back with more than standard social distancing guidelines and state recommended procedures. Ownership felt compelled to put forth maximum effort to show employees and clients they care about protecting their health.
SOLUTION:
Locally operated, Campbell, Inc., was able to answer Salon Hazelton’s request by offering a solution which cleans the air where it makes the most impact – at the HVAC system. Campbell installed a state of the art Global Plasma Solution (GPS) Needlepoint bi-polar ionization system, that constantly inactivates (kills) viruses midair. The GPS system is a needlepoint bi-polar ionization treatment, cleaning the air of mold, virus and bacteria by using positive and negative ions to form Hydroxyls, which rob pathogens of the hydrogen necessary for survival. This imposition of charged ions kills the mold, virus or bacteria and keeps interior air clean. Studies have shown that the system kills E. coli in just 15 minutes and in 30 it can conquer norovirus, known to be harder to kill than the coronavirus. Independent 3rd party CDC Affiliated lab results from a testing of the SARS – CoV – 2 Virus (which causes the COVID-19 disease) show the GPS unit installed by Campbell Inc. Mechanical Services has been proven to inactivate the virus at a 10 minute kill rate of 84.2% and a 30 minute kill rate at 99.4%.*
BENEFIT:
Salon Hazelton installed the Campbell GPS unit before their reopening. Having a local, knowledgeable and trained team to provide their employees and clients with air filtration and a sense of safety was a “pretty big deal” to management. In addition to peace of mind, particulate reduction and odor reduction, it is likely moving forward that all buildings will be required to have this system in place.
